Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of OnSpec at onspec.synthetixis.com, a product of Synthetixis, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("we", "us"). By using OnSpec you agree to these terms.

1. What OnSpec is

OnSpec is a photo-formatting tool. It crops, resizes, and cleans the background of your own genuine photo to match published government specifications for passport and ID photos, and produces a print-ready file and print sheet.

OnSpec is unofficial and is not affiliated with, authorised, or endorsed by any government or agency. Specifications are formatted from published official requirements.

2. What OnSpec is not

OnSpec does not create, template, or produce identity documents, cards, or credentials, and does not alter a person's appearance. It only formats a real photo to spec.

4. Your responsibility for your application

OnSpec formats the file to the specifications it controls. You remain responsible for your final application and for the requirements OnSpec does not control — including your expression, eyes, glasses, headwear, background as physically shot, lighting and shadows, photo recency, print quality, and the submission process itself. Government requirements can change; we show a "last verified" date for each document and you should check the official source before submitting.

5. Purchases and pricing

The crop and a watermarked preview are free. To download the clean, print-ready file you pay a one-time fee of $4 USD. One payment unlocks the clean export for the current photo and document in that session. Uploading a different photo, or choosing a different document, requires a new payment. Payments are processed by Stripe.

6. Immediate delivery and your right to cancel (UK & EEA consumers)

Your file is digital content delivered immediately. If you are a consumer in the UK or the EEA, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel a distance purchase. By ticking the box at checkout, you give your express consent to receive the file immediately and acknowledge that you therefore lose that 14-day right to cancel once your download begins. If you do not give that consent, you should not complete the purchase. This does not affect the separate Acceptance Guarantee and refund rights described in our Guarantee & Refunds policy, or your statutory rights if the file is faulty or not as described.

7. Acceptance Guarantee

Some documents are offered with an Acceptance Guarantee and some ship as a sizing tool only, without a guarantee (each is clearly labelled). The scope, exclusions, and claim process are set out in our Guarantee & Refunds policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Intellectual property

The OnSpec name, logo, site, and content are owned by Synthetixis, Inc. You keep all rights to your own photo — we claim no rights over it and never store it.

9. Disclaimers and liability

OnSpec is provided "as is". We do everything reasonable to format files correctly and to verify specifications against official sources, but we do not warrant that any application will be accepted, except as expressly stated in the Acceptance Guarantee. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of OnSpec is limited to the amount you paid us for the purchase in question. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including your non-excludable statutory consumer rights.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. This does not deprive you of the mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence, which continue to apply.

11. Changes

We may update these terms; we'll change the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, note it in the app. Continued use means you accept the revised terms.
